INGENIUM CORPORATION DELIVERS E-BUSINESS SOLUTIONS FOR HEALTHCARE--Web-based applications reduce costs and improve efficiency and communication

Dallas, TX — Ingenium Corporation, one of the fastest growing e-business companies in the country, today announced its development of innovative web-based applications for healthcare, including corporate intranets as well as regional physician and health services provider web sites. Ingenium made the announcement at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2000 Annual Conference and Exhibition taking place this week in Dallas.

Ingenium’s e-business applications for healthcare include:

  • Clinical Messaging – Facilitates secure, electronic communication between physicians and providers of significant patient events such as consultation requests or completions, patient visits to the ER or a patient’s abnormal lab results.
  • Supply Chain Automation – Automates the supply chain functions of healthcare organizations and enables them to reduce costs by leveraging their collective buying power.
  • Resource Trading – Provides an electronic medium for providers to trade supplies, staff and resources (such as ER space) among themselves.
  • Workflow Automation – Securely automates routine business processes such as recruiting, expense reporting and reimbursement, and employee performance appraisals.
  • Knowledge Management – Provides a centralized, electronic repository of corporate policies and procedures, reference materials and training resources.
  • eHealth Portal – Provides customized access to various Internet-based clinical, pharmaceutical and nutritional reference materials.
  • eLearning – A wide variety of electronic training resources ranging from interactive multimedia to full-blown, one-to-many, video-based training with real-time, two-way interaction.

Although healthcare is the nation’s largest industry, it has lagged behind other industries in embracing the Internet. ”Ingenium Corporation, an experienced provider of Information Technology (IT) solutions for healthcare, is at the forefront of a growing movement to reinvent the healthcare business model through the design, deployment and management of secure, e-business solutions that leverage the vast potential of the Internet,” said André L. Lynch, president and CEO of Ingenium Corporation.

Ingenium has been engaged in the development of web-based applications since the dawn of the Internet Revolution. While other companies were primarily involved in the development of electronic brochures, Ingenium was architecting and deploying mission-critical, enterprise applications on the Internet. They helped the US Air Force deploy their first intranet and spearheaded the expansion of this system to more than 45,000 users worldwide. Ingenium continues to manage that system today.

Ingenium also is a pioneer in the implementation of a new IT outsourcing model that leverages the power of the Internet to provide remote network and desktop management technologies for health services providers. In addition to IT outsourcing and e-business infrastructure support, Ingenium’s combination of electronic security-related experience and healthcare industry expertise provide the knowledge and skills necessary for Health

Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) assessment and compliance through its eSecure Consulting practice.

Ingenium supports more than 150 health services facilities, including the Dimensions Healthcare System (DHS) and DC Health and Hospitals Public Benefit Corporation (PBC).
