INGENIUM CORPORATION WINS $18.5 MILLION TINKER AFB A-76 CONTRACT
Oklahoma City, OK - Ingenium Corporation today announced that it has been awarded a contract to operate portions of the Base Network Control Center (BNCC) and Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The five-year contract, one base year with four (4) option years, is valued at more than $18.5 million.
The BNCC and ADPE are currently operated by the 72nd Communications Squadron. Tinker AFB officials decided to transfer the work to the private sector after a study, conducted under the Office of Management and Budget's Circular A-76, Performance of Commercial Activities, determined that over the life of the contract the Air Force could save $4.4 million. The conversion from the 72nd Communications Squadron to Ingenium is expected to begin December 1.
"This is a big win for Ingenium," Mark Percich, Vice President of Corporate Development, said in announcing the award. "This contract makes us one of the Air Force's premier providers of wireless networking design and services. Additionally, this work will support several supply chain management objectives that we have."
Specifically, Ingenium will provide Help Desk, File Server Administration, Backup and Restore, Technical Evaluations, Classified and Unclassified Defense Message System, System Outages, Desktop and Web Management, Local Registration Authority and Alternate Information System Security Officer support for Tinker AFB. Ingenium will also provide personnel who can support ADPE. Ingenium's team members are Lockheed Martin Information Technology, Sumaria Systems and New Horizons.
The conversion of this work was conducted in compliance with the Air Force policies in Commercial Activities Program (AFI 38-203), that implements the Office of Management and Budget Circular A-76, Performance of Commercial Activities. Circular A-76 reaffirms the government's policy to rely on the private sector for products and services, when in-house performance of commercial activities is not required for national defense reasons and contracting is more cost effective.
