FORMER WRAMC COMMANDER, MAJ.-GEN. HAROLD L. TIMBOE, M.D. APPOINTED TO INGENIUM CORPORATION BOARD
Upper Marlboro, MD - Ingenium Corporation today announced that Major General Harold L. Timboe (US Army, Retired), former Commander of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) in Washington, D.C., has joined its Board of Advisors. General Timboe's duties at WRAMC also included command of the Army's North Atlantic Regional Medical Command (NARMC) and Northeast Lead Agent for TRICARE, the military health plan for over one (1) million beneficiaries.
NARMC, a multi-hospital system spanning 21 states, provides health support to the 82nd Airborne Division, 10th Mountain Division, US Military Academy at West Point, as well as senior governmental officials at the White House, US Capitol, and the Pentagon. In this role, General Timboe was responsible for health support during the September 11th Pentagon attack as well as the following anthrax attack.
"General Timboe has been a strong advocate of information technology's role in America's health system for quite some time," Andre L. Lynch, President and CEO of Ingenium, said in announcing the board appointment. "His extensive experience in executive leadership of large, complex military health systems adds further depth to our highly regarded board, giving us a thought leader who represents both our major markets - healthcare and defense."
Currently, General Timboe is Associate Vice President for Administration and Director of the Center for Public Health Preparedness and Biomedical Research at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He is also a faculty member in the School of Medicine, Department of Family and Community Medicine.
General Timboe is the recipient of the military's two highest awards for service - the Defense Distinguished Service Medal and the Army's Distinguished Service Medal. He has been awarded five (5) Legions of Merit and two (2) Bronze Stars.
